A client wished to bring about substantial improvements in efficiency and productivity across multiple departments in the organization. We brought together key stakeholders to map current processes across the extended enterprise, identifying dependencies, interfaces and critical constraints as we did so. Next we work-shopped completely new processes with the goal of deriving performance improvements of at least 50%. In many cases, this goal was substantially exceeded as the processes underlying the way work was done were completely re-conceptualized.
Wasteful and costly practices were surfaced and eliminated thus bringing about substantial improvements in quality, efficiency and productivity. Through careful attention to teamwork and the engagement of people from different disciplines across the organization, the support for new processes, and morale in general, remained high.
